Impulse Leisure aims to create active and healthy communities. To achieve this goal, they needed to enhance their training facilities by integrating modern functional training spaces. With limited experience in designing these areas, the gym turned to IndigoFitness for expert guidance and support.
The Situation
For the first time, Impulse Leisure aimed to incorporate functional spaces into their gym spaces, requiring a trusted advisor to guide them through the gym design process. With limited experience in delivering functional spaces, the client required substantial help and guidance to ensure the final solution met all their requirements. Additionally, space constraints took careful planning to maximise storage and functionality, particularly at their Blackshots location, where the rig design needed to accommodate existing pillars.
THE SOLUTION
IndigoFitness addressed these challenges with a comprehensive solution. Supporting the client with end-to-end support, from conceptual design through project management to final installation. Customised Functional Shadow Series Rigs were designed to fit the unique space, incorporating lifting stations, cables, storage, and numerous functional attachments. These rigs were designed to fit around existing pillars, optimising space and ensuring functionality. Additionally, the flooring solutions chosen are varied to suit multiple training activities, enhancing the overall functional training space.

The Result
The collaboration has had positive outcomes for Impulse Leisure. The integration of functional training zones has modernised the gym floors across 2 sites. Providing engaging areas for members to train and for group training classes to be conducted. This improved gym offering, featuring state-of-the-art equipment has attracted more members and already led to an increase in gym membership.
