The brainchild of ex-professional rugby player, Ross Beattie, 39 Monte Carlo had a bold vision from the outset – to create a private sports club like no other; “Thanks to it’s unique British sporting heritage, THIRTY NINE has seamlessly combined the latest technologies and state of the art facilities in sport, with an eclectic mis of home comforts and unexpected lucuries.” Wow.

The Challenge

So, with a brief of creating a centre of excellence for sports performance, reflecting the luxurious and state of the art feel being offered throughout the rest of the Club, the pressure was on! Time Exeter, Sports Director at THIRTY NINE, was fast assembling a high quality coaching staff that had worked, competed and performed in professional sport and dance, including international level rugby, football, swimming, ballet and motor racing. He knew he needed a partner that could deliver at this high level, and that’s why he chose Indigo Fitness.

The Solution

The Indigo team like nothing more than a unique challenge and the key to making a succes of the THIRTY NINE project was getting involved early and continuous close collaboration.

Being involved from the early stages allowed Tim and Indigo to influence the layout before the final plans had been signed off. Through the use of 3D visuals and 360 degree video flythroughs, Tim could really see and feel how the space would work in practice and had the confidence to make key decisions about the different training areas.

DuraTRAIN was the natural flooring solution to be used throughout. Its superior noise and vibration reduction properties meant that noise from the training areas would not be transferred throughout the rest of the club (which is very important when you have fine dining upstairs and a hair and beauty studio next door).

Training equipment included three custom rigs that were designed and manufactured to maximise available space and functionality, including one that is suspended from the ceiling and incorporates dancing poles and yoga hammocks. THIRTY NINE Monte Carlo branding was incorporated into much of the equipment including; PU dumbells, PU bumper plates, lifting platforms, custom made med ball walls, and it was even embossed onto the upholstery.

The Indigo Fitness installation team were on-site for a month, handing everything from delivery of equipment, fitting of the flooring and assembly of all the training equipment, undertaking wall, floor and ceiling fixings where necessary. Every small detail was taken care of before the team left their Monaco base and headed back to the UK.

The Results

The finished set-p includes two altitude rooms, group cycling, Pilates, a multi-function training room with custom ceiling suspended rig, a fitness suite, a performance zone and a functional training area with complete bespoke Spider rig.

Tim cites the excellent job that Indigo Fitness did throughout the whole process “Indigo delivered on all levels for us, the whole way through the project, and the finished result is simply outstanding. The training spaces and equipment clusters have been carefully thought through to create a sense of drama and energy, whilst maintaining clear sight lines to encourage members to participate and feel engaged. The quality, workmanship and finish applied to the space and equipment truly reflects what the club is all about and most importantly the members really love training here.

We’d love to hear about your project
