We’re thrilled to introduce Sam Vagg, our newest Regional Sales Manager, bringing a fresh wave of enthusiasm and expertise to the IndigoFitness team.
We sat down with Sam to get to know him better.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a fitness and sports enthusiast from Warwickshire. When not at work I’m going to be training, with my family or spending time in the outdoors. I love anywhere hilly or mountainous but especially the Brecon Beacons, Lake District or Peak District. Having spent a lot of my younger life focussing on the destination, I’m now focussed on enjoying the journey. Ultimately, I’m just trying to get fitter, stronger, happier and healthier every day.
And your background in the fitness industry?
I’ve been working as a sales manager/consultant in various roles over the past 10 years. Before moving into the fitness industry, I worked for two multinational companies in new business and account management roles designing security system architecture and then supporting manufacturing SMEs with the management of certain elements of their supply chain. Over the last 5 years I’ve worked in the sports performance sector, with core product ranges of Sport Science, S&C and Rehabilitation. I worked with a wide range of customers in the Elite Sport, Education, Public and Private sectors.
What areas of fitness and wellness are you most passionate about?
An area of expertise of mine has become the consultation, design, and project management of training space developments within the UK’s Education sector (Schools, Colleges & Universities). Seeing how the provision of S&C training can impact the overall health, fitness, performance and wellbeing of the youth & young adult population massively motivates me and I find it particularly rewarding when I go back to visit projects I’ve worked in in this sector and hear the impact that these training spaces have had.
What trends or developments in the fitness industry are you most excited about?
For me, the trend towards more versatile, multi-use training spaces is particularly exciting. I think IndigoFitness are especially well placed as a solution provider to support facilities with this change, due to the modular nature of our range and the capacity to provide bespoke, truly best fit solutions.
What’s your favourite training method?
It’s hard to pick a favourite and I tend to prefer different methodologies at different times, I love variety and try to have 2-3 different types of session every week. If I had to pick, I’d say running/speed marching out in the hills brings me the most “joy”. Firmly falls under type 2 fun.
Do you have any events or challenges coming up this year?
HYROX Bilbao
Mountain Marathon in June.
Hopefully, more HYROX and an Ultramarathon before the end of the year!
